Place clamps on both sides of
one sheet of OPENCAST.
Heat OPENCAST using the oven
to make it moldable.
(85℃ for four minutes)
A. Do not heat OPENCAST for an extended period of time.(4min recommended)
B. Do not use OPENCAST if the outer layer is damaged or cut.
C. Be careful of burns when taking OPENCAST out of the oven.
D. Should OPENCAST be too hot, apply after wiping it with a wet towel.
Put on stockinet of adequate
thickness and width.
A. Fold stockinet into 2~3 layers with the width of 1~1.5cm. Apply 3~4 of these folded stockinets on the arm or leg.
B. Fold stockinet into 2~3 layers for the thumb and the hand in case of applying on the arm.
C. Fold stockinet into 2~3 layers wide enough for the upper arm(above the elbow) or the calf.
Connect the two moldable pieces of
OPENCAST using clamps.
A. Soft side facing downwards.
Mold OPENCAST around injured part
and close the clamps.
A. Soft side facing the skin.
B. Pads must be placed at the sole of the foot and where the doctor deems necessary.
Wrap the stretch wrap around OPENCAST finalizing the shape.
A. Use moderate force when wrapping the stretch wrap.
B. Maintain adequate space between OPENCAST and the skin.
C. Make sure OPENCAST is not in pressured contact with the skin.
D. Check for any undesirable shapes and adjust OPENCAST if necessary.
Unwrap the stretch wrap.
A. Pull stockinet through the openings using a pincer and cut it with scissors. Remove the cut stockinet by pulling them out through an opening.
B. Check for any undesirable shapes or pointy edges.
C. Do not remove the extra inner padding pad used on the top of the foot.
OPENCAST application complete.
A. Put on extra outer padding for the foot.
